If there’s any reason to NOT reblog wet Rupert Graves

"I’ve been very aware ever since I was a child how futile it is to start categorising. I know that sexually I am a lot more drawn to women than I am to men. But I do find it hard to define myself, because as soon as you state one thing, you deny everything else. Some people know exactly who they are and what they want to do. I don’t have that. I feel wider… not deeper or cleverer or anything, just wider…"
— Rupert Graves, Actor (via bestbandquotes)
Okay, so, I’m rewatching that BBC show, the one starring Rupert Graves in it, y’know? The one about Scotland Yard?

And I’d forgotten how very annoying it can be. I mean, it’s his show, pretty much. Yeah, okay, ensemble, whatever. He practically carries the show. So, yeah, I’m annoyed, and I’m going to explain why.

You see THIS GUY?

IDEK who he even is (some guy who did Smaug’s animation in the cartoon Hobbit movie, or plays a horse or something, I think), or why he’s in the show, but his character isn’t even interesting, and he keeps getting all the screen time. On Rupert’s show. He even gets more screen time than Jonathan Aris - can you believe that shit?

I mean, it’s a procedural drama, right? There’s supposed to be forensics and arrests and court proceedings, but why are they all about him? You’d think that, with six 90-minute episodes, they could come up with another case for them, but no. The whole arc of the first two series is about how this guy keeps interfering with police business.

Then…then I find out about all these fans saying how’s so hawt and so cool and everything. Well, fine, that’s nice. Can’t he go be hawt and cool on his own show? If he’s so great, why does he have to play an overblown bit-part on the Yarders’ show? I mean, seriously, people. We all know that what makes this show great is all the awesome chemistry between the Yarders and the blossoming romance between Iain and Greg (the whole Sally/Daniel thing is kinda tragic - fuck on again/off again and just pick one!). We don’t want all of our 90 minutes focusing on this guy and his weird hetero-life-mates thing with that doctor.

The one good thing is that he died at the end of series two, so unless the writers are going to do some weird soap opera crap, they should be coming out with a new story arc for series three.

Anyway, just my opinion.

#P.S. - Why’s it called Sherlock? #Anyone know what that’s about? #Is it a British thing?

My love for you… I can’t. I just. I can’t.
