Come along, John

"Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions."

This actually happened today. I was only going to get a book of Sylvia Plath’s poems and ended up with two books of Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allen Poe’s Complete Works, The Best Stories of De Maupassant, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Nietzsche.
Fuck I love bookstores.

if he did Donna would see it on television, recognize him and thus her mind would burn up.

Eleven has realized this and thus he’s now carrying it to save her life.

He’s got it under control.

people who correct did-yuo-know are basically punching and screaming at a brick wall and telling it how dumb it is for being made out of bricks while the entire rest of the town is standing around them pointing and laughing

Fandoms are a lot like English teachers, they read into the story so much that they come up with logical things that the writer never even realised.

Most people seemed surprised when I tell them reading is one of my favorite things to do. There was a guy at my work recently who teased me for being a ‘nerd’ and told me I “needed to get a real life and hobbies” and that I should “stop reading books, what are they good for? to burn!”
Obviously, he doesn’t understand that when I read a book, the people, places and adventures become real. They pop off the page and it’s like they are happening right in front of me. A good book is like a lost friend, once you find it you read it and become familiar with it again. Every problem you’ve ever experienced someone has experienced before you, and odds are one of those other people wrote about it.  Don’t ever underestimate the power of a book.
Back to the conversation with the guy at my work, I just went back to reading. I really wanted to look him in the eyes and say, “my love of reading is why I am in college and you are working a minimum wage job. My love of reading is what will afford me the lifestyle I want. My love of reading is why I am going to be successful in the future while you still work here getting minimum wage.”
But I didn’t, I went back to reading.

I don’t know where she came from but I really like Luna – really fun to write. She’s slightly out of step in many ways but she’s the anti-Hermione. Hermione’s so logical and inflexible in so many ways and Luna is likely to believe 10 impossible things before breakfast” - J.K. Rowling
